Got Talent? Summer Shareformance at the Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival

  • 700 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN, 55402 United States (map)

Got Talent?

Saturday, August 10th, 12:30-2:00pm

Short acts revealing hidden (or not so hidden) talents.

Emceed by zAmya Troup Member Corey Walton.

Co-directed by Maren Ward and Esther Ouray, with sound by Dameun Strange.

‘Got Talent?’ showcases original content developed in Creative Expression Sessions. This summer, guest artists Tish Jones, Dameun Strange and Masa Kawahara are leading sessions to support participants to experiment with their talents in spoken word, songwriting and solo performance. "Talent Acts" will feature content from the lives of participants, the majority of whom are currently and/or formerly unhoused. Expect to be surprised by the abundance of talent in this community.

The performance will take place at the Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival, a free, family-friendly event that takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 10-11 from 10a-6p on Nicollet Mall between 5th and 10th Streets. The festival features chalk and spray artists from around the Twin Cities and the world creating live artworks, downtown mural tours, make & take art activities, music and dance performances, craft, food and fun! Additional details, such as zAmya’s specific performance location, will be posted here once confirmed.

zAmya will perform on the festival’s stage at 7th St and Nicollet Ave. As part of the Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival, this performance is free and open to everyone. The event is rain or shine, and limited seating will be available.

If you have questions or access needs please contact zAmya’s Company Manager, Esther Ouray, at esther@zamyatheater.org. Other festival questions and concerns can be directed to the festival’s email account at didstreetart@gmail.com.
