Homeless Newz Network highlights stories, experiences and creative contributions of people with lived experience of homelessness and the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic on the homeless community.

zAmya uses creativity, collaboration and stories to build understanding and connection between people who’ve experienced homelessness and people who have not.

When the pandemic struck, zAmya was underway with year three in a residency on Nicollet Mall sponsored by Hennepin County Library and Minneapolis D.I.D.  HNN is our way of continuing to use storytelling to build understanding and connection, while observing State of Minnesota gathering restrictions.

People experiencing homelessness or housing instability and/or living in shelters and low-income housing units are particularly vulnerable to Covid-19. We hope our work continues to inspire people to advocate for short and long term solutions to the housing crisis in Minnesota.
