Registration is open for the next 5K from our friends at Mile in My Shoes! The Downtown Run Around 5K, happening on Sunday, August 15th, will hopefully include running together in person and also virtually with supporters from around the world. All people experiencing homelessness can register for free at the registration site.
Mile in My Shoes (MiMS) is dedicated to "running together to change perceptions and to change lives." We do this by bringing together residents of local homeless shelters and halfway houses with volunteer runners, who train together 2-3 times a week. During the pandemic we have changed the program to continue building community and changing lives, while maintaining safety for all our participants.
Over the summer, HNN shared the stories and experiences of people who have experienced homelessness and the impact Covid-19 had on the homeless community. And we shared some incredible zAmya memories, too!
